Altona industrial earthmoving equipment made fun for kids

At T7, we are thrilled to give you a sneak preview of our brand-new kids’ space! We wanted to create a space where kids can interact with and explore our industrial earthmoving equipment in Melbourne.

The first stage of this exciting project is underway and should be finished in the next six weeks. T7 needed a new hook truck to add to our business – so we thought why not custom-build a four-door hook truck, designed to entertain the kids and still be used day-to-day by the business?

This fully-custom design is an Australian first. We love the Scania brand of trucks and industrial earthmoving equipment – and with six Scania’s in our truck fleet including hook trucks already in use by the business, we decided to customise another to suit our needs.

The kids’ space project involves modifying a Scania fire truck, so children can look out the back window and see the hook in action, picking up all sorts of things!

We want to make industrial earthmoving equipment fun for kids, providing a safe and friendly environment where children and parents can both get involved. Other earthmoving equipment we are adding to the kids’ space includes a working mini digger and sandpit set-up, as well as a loading shovel and viewing platform so children can watch our workshop in action.

It’s a fairly large project and we are using a time lapse camera to show the full build, so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out the in-progress photos and drawings of what the final, finished truck will look like.
